SBCA fights cities’ moves to clamp down on satellite dishes

A number of cities have adopted local ordinances aimed at stopping the placement of satellite dishes on the front of homes. Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago have approved rules that allow dishes to be placed on street fronts only when there is no other way to get a signal. In moving to block the laws at the Federal Communications Commission, SBCA has argued that the measures are arbitrary and discriminatory. “It is hard to understand why a satellite dish is any more ‘aesthetically unpleasing,’ ” than other common urban appliances such as air conditioners, the group said. The Wall Street Journal (4/25) LinkedInFacebookTwitterEmail this Story
